Our mission is to log locale's and photographs of as many graves and cemeteries as possible within Monroe and Greenbrier Counties.

We are a one-woman team, so progress may be slow, and will take place as weather permits. If you know of a cemetery or graveyard that you would like to see showcased here, please let us know.

Malinda Marie Hedrick was born 22 Aug 1901 in Greenbrier Co., WV to Jacob Houston Hedrick and Almarinda Shepherd. She was one of at least three children born to the couple.

Malinda died 12 Jun 1901 in Greenbrier Co., WV. She never married.

Moses Hedrick was born 7 Dec 1801 in Greenbrier County, WV to Fredrick Hedrick and Hannah Tuckwiller. He was one of at least 15 children born to the couple.

Moses married 4 times: [1] Isabel Newton [1806-1830] in 1825 at Ft Spring. [2] Elizabeth McVey [1808-1851] in 1831. [3] Rachel Parkin [1823-1857] in 1856. and [4] Mary Elizabeth Chennault [1835-1925] in 1858.

Moses fathered at least 15 children by the above women. He died July 12, 1862.

Nannie Emma Shpherd was born 15 Nov 1863 at Ft Springs, Greenbrier, WV to William George Shpherd and Cathy Perkins. She was one of at least 8 children born to the couple.

Nannie married George Harvey Hedrick [1858 - 1946] 25 Dec 1888 at the old Shepherd Home at Ft Spring. The couple had eleven known children: Blanche, Florence, Hattie, Clarence, Elbert, Ward, Ira, Irene, Glen, Edith and Lloyd.

Nannie died 03 Sep 1942 at Ft Spring.

Louden Elihu Ramsey was born12 Mar 1859 in Watts Mills, [West] Virginia to William Ramsey and his wife, Lucinda.. He married Rachel Hedrick 12 Aug 1880 in Greenbrier County. Rachel was born 07 Feb 1857 to Moses Hedrick and Rachel Parkin.

Louden died 17 Oct 1936. Rachel lived until 20 Feb 1943, and died at Ft Spring. It is unknown if the couple had children.

Almarinda Shepherd was born 18 Nov 1867 at Ft Spring, Greenbrier, WV to William George Shepherd and Catherine Parkin. She was one of at least 8 children born to the couple.

Jacob and Almarinda were married 12 Oct 1894 at Ft Spring. The couple had three children: Clarence Clark; Harry Lemons; and Malinda Marie.

Almarinda died 27 Nov 1946 at Ft Springs. While Jacob lived until 20 Feb 1965.

Ida died 10 Jan 1995 at Luling, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.

Glen married Marie Byrd Burdette on 18 Jun 1943 at the Methodist Parsonage, Richlands, Greenbrier, WV.

Marie was born 02 Feb 1918 to Kenley Burdette and Mary Byrd, I do not know at present if she had siblings.

Glen died 27 Jan 1973 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, WV and Marie died 25 Jan 1990 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, WV. The couple had three children: Amy, Stephen and Glen Jr.

It is unknown if he ever married or not.

He died in 1918.

Frances Coffman was born 23 Jan 1833, it is believed in [West] Virginia. Her parents are unknown at present.

Frances married Jehu Hank Hedrick [1828-1904] on an unknown date. The couple had at least one child: George Harvey Hedrick [1858 - 1956].

George Harvey Hedrick was born on 30 Oct 1858 in Ft Springs, Greenbrier [West] Virginia to Jehu Hank and Frances Coffman [see above]. He was the only child I have listed for this couple.

George married Nancy Emma Shepherd [1863-1942] on 25 Dec 1888 in Ft Springs, Greenbrier, WV. The couple had at least eleven children: Blanche, Florence, Hattie, Clarence, Elbert, Ward, Ira, Irene, Glen, Edith and Lloyd.

George died 24 Mar 1946 at Ft Springs, Greenbrier, WV.

Elliott married Elizabeth E. "Lizzie" Leach on 30 Jan 1883 in Greenbrier Co., WV. The couple were wed by Rev. S.R. Houston.  Elliott and Lizzie had at least three children together: Hubert, Mary and Nettie. Elliott died in 1959.

Esther married Stephen B. Chenault [1776-1860] on 09 Nov 1843 in Greenbrier Co., [West] Virginia. At present I do not know if this couple had any children or not.

Esther died 19 Jun 1893.

David married Mary E. Fry on 14 Mar 1867 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Mary Elizabeth Fray was born on 12 Jun 1844 to Dominick and Christiana Fry. It is unknown if she had siblings at this time. David and Mary had at least one child: William Alfred Hedrick [1868-1929].

She married William George Shepherd [1824-1908] at Ft Springs on 10 Jun 1852. The couple had eight children: Virginia, James, Barbara, Martha, Nancy, Alma, Almirinda, and Ernest.

Catherine died 02 Aug 1902 at Fort Springs.

Mary Bostick was probably born in either North Carolina or Monroe County. Her parents are unknown.

She married John Ray Wiseman in 1825. It is believed this couple did not have children.

Jacob Honaker was born in 1783, probably in Monroe County, to Frederick Honaker and Rachel Elizabeth Wiseman. He was one of at least 14 children born to the couple.

He served as a Private in the Virginia Militia during the War of 1812.

He married Anna Sams, also of Monroe County, on 13 Jan 1829. The couple had at least one child, Isaac.

Jacob died in 1838.

John Ray Wiseman was born 26 Jun 1796 in Berks County, Pennsylvania to John Wiseman and Sarah Greene. He was one of at least 12 children born to the couple.

He married Mary Bostick about 1825. It is believed this couple did not have children.

John died 22 Nov 1879 in Monroe County.

Joseph served in North Carolina Militia during the American Revolutionary War.

He died 27 Dec 1836 in Monroe County.

Frederick Honaker was born 1757 in Virginia to Hans Jacob Honnegar and Mary Goetz. He was one of at least 14 children born to this couple.

Frederick served in the Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.

He married Rachel Elizabeth Wiseman [1769-1856] about 1820-1821. The couple had at least 14 children. He died in 1824.

Isaac Wiseman was born 18 Aug 1738 in Amity Twp., Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Isaac Wiseman and Mary Marshall. He was one of at least 10 children born to the couple.

He married Elizabeth Davis, who was born 26 Aug 1738 in Berks County, Pennsylvania; her parents are currently unknown. The couple married in 1758 in Berks County, PA. They had eleven children.

Isaac served in the American Revolution.

Isaac died 03 May 1818 in Monroe County, [W]VA. Elizabeth died 19 Jun 1807, also in Monroe County, [W]VA.
