Owen Neel was born 20 Sep 1798 in Monroe County, [W]VA to Owen Neel and Isabella Maxwell. He was one of at least eight children born to the couple.

He married Mary Brown Patton [1810 - 1891] on 01 Oct 1831 in Monroe County. The couple had one child, Austen. He died 27 Feb 1876.

    Cool to see Owen Neel's grave...I would love one day to trace all of the ancestors of the four Maxwell sisters in Monroe County!!! I have started briefly on the Steeles, but even just doing the Crosiers (my direct line) is HUGE! So I don't know if I will ever get to do that, but I can dream, right?!!?
