Virginia Margaret Shpherd was born 29 Apr 1853 at Ft Spring to William George Shepherd and Catherine Perkins. She was one of at least eight children born to the couple.

Virginia married John Wesley Claypool [1854 - 1926] on 18 Aug 1884. I do not know if this couple had children.

Virginia died 10 Jan 1944 at Ft Spring.

William George Shepherd was born 12 Nov 1824 at Bedford County, Virginia to John Shepherd and Elizabeth Taylor. He was one of at least 6 children born to the couple.

William married Catherine Perkins [1826 - 1902] on 10 Jun 1852 at Ft Spring. The couple had at least eight children: Virginia, James, Barbara, Martha, Nancy, Anna, Almarinda and Ernest.

William died 19 Nov 1908.

Laura Anna Shepherd was born 19 Feb 1866 at Ft Spring, Greenbrier, WV to William George Shepherd and Catherine Perkins. She was one of at least 8 children born to the couple.

Laura married William Alfred Hedrick 22 Aug 1895. William was born 09 Oct 1868 at Ft Spring to David T. Hedrick and Mary Elizabeth Fry.

Laura and William had at least seven children: Carl, Forest, Roy, Ida, Ralph, Hazel and Grace.

Laura died 07 Feb 1947 at Ronceverte, Greenbrier, WV. William died 13 Jul 1929 at Ronceverte, Greenbrier, WV.

This concludes the graves that I have photographed thusfar at Mount Vernon United ME Church Cemetery at Fort Spring. However, I do intend to fully catalog the cemetery, so be watching for that update!!!
